We love some good Valentine’s Day children’s books, all about love. Some are specifically about Valentine’s Day, but some are just about good friendship and relationships.
14 Favorite Valentine’s Day Children’s Books
Lola Dutch I Love You So Much, by Kenneth and Sarah Jane Wright. All the Lola Dutch books are darling. She and her friends are so sweet, and of course the illustrations are swoon-worthy. This one is all about how we can show the important people in our lives how much we love them.
Love is My Favorite Thing, by Emma ChiChester-Clark. Ok, this one was new for us, but really good. It focuses on how they love their dog even when she makes mistakes, as long as she tries to be good. A good message for kids to hear. They need to know we love them even when they’re not always perfect.
More and More, by Emily Dodd. A child and parent’s love grows more and more, as this little monkey discovers.
Hug Machine by Scott Campbell. Everyone deserves a hug, and everyone is allowed to take a break from hugs when they need it.
Loved to Bits, by Teresa Heapy & Katie Clemison. We don’t have to be perfect to be loved! And everything we’ve been through with our family and friends, even the hard stuff, is what makes our love even deeper. A story as told by a little boy about his teddy bear who has seen better days.
Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney. This one will always hold a special place in my heart. I love doing this with my kids and challenging each other on how much we love each other. Also, my brother gave this book to my oldest daughter when she turned one and it has always been a favorite!
In My Heart: A Book of Feelings, by Jo Witek. A cutout book all about feelings and emotions. Reminding kids that it’s normal and ok to experience all the emotions.
My Creepy Valentine, by Arthur Howard. For a fun spin on Valentine’s Day, this one is all about a witch wanting her valentine to like her back. It’s cute and my kids really liked it!
I’ll Never Let You Go, by Smriti Prasadam-Hall. I was just introduced to this one, but it’s so sweet. I really enjoyed reading it to my kids and reminding them how much I love them.
Mirabel’s Missing Valentines, by Janet Lawler. From the darling illustrations to the sweet rhyming story, this one was a treasure to discover.
Wally Wants a Hug, by Barbara Joosse. This poor boa constrictor just wants his friends to let him hug them, and doesn’t understand why they don’t trust him. It’s so cute!
I Heart You, by Meg Fleming. This is a sweet book reminding us of all the reasons we love our littles.
Duck and Hippo The Secret Valentine, by Jonathan London. The best valentines are friends, and it’s cute how duck plans out a secret valentine party for his friends.
I hope you enjoy this fun stories as a family and check out my post from last year with a few other of our favorite children’s Valentine’s Day books.
Sincerely,
