Maybe just another gift guide for kids, but I like to think these are tried and true favorites. Kids get excited about anything new, but the more toys we’ve accumulated over the years, the more careful I have become about the gifts we get our kids. I talked about some of the criteria we use to decide what to buy for our kids in this blog post: Classic Toys Kids Play with for Years.
After thinking about what our kids play with the most, I put together some ideas. Here’s a list of some of our family’s favorite gifts for kids, and the toys they engage with the most.
Gift Guide for Kids
Toy Drill Set-This is a great gift for kids of all ages because there are so many different things you can do with it. It is simple enough for a 2 year old to enjoy but complex enough for an older kid to make designs with all the pieces.
Elephant and Piggie Book-What kid doesn’t love these books? They are so funny and interactive with the reader that most kids truly enjoy reading these, plus they are great for beginning readers to start reading.
Watercolor Paint Set-With 36 different colors kids can paint so much with this set and this set includes actual quality paint brushes unlike most watercolor paint sets.
Marble Run-Kids love marble runs and the more pieces you have the more creativity your child can have when putting a run together.
Kid Basketball Hoop and balls-When you have a girl or boy who loves sports, this is the perfect gift that can be kept in the house or taken outside when it’s warm so that it can be used year round.
Standing Art Easel-This is a great gift for any art loving kids out there because it includes a chalkboard, dry erase board, and roll of paper where a kid can draw/paint so it is great for creative minds. It also is a great resource for children learning the basics of writing the alphabet and learning numbers.
Toy Tool Workshop-Most kids watch their parents use tools and like with anything they want to use them too, so this is the perfect gift to give those kids who want to mimic their parents but are able to use safer, kid friendly tools.
Kitchen Play Set-Who doesn’t love a play kitchen set? This one even has the cooking and boiling sounds which all kids love so your kids will feel like they are actually cooking things.
Wooden Train Set-Both boys and girls love a classic wooden train set and it truly promotes engineer minded play.
Ride-on Snail Toy-This is the perfect toy for babies that are about to start walking or have just recently starting walking because they just sit on it and push with their feet to move forward and toddlers love this as well!
Foam Swords-A lot of little kids love play fighting and these swords are perfect because they don’t hurt at all and kids can still pretend like they are fighting with real ones.
Jumbo Legos-The majority of kids love legos and the jumbo legos are perfect for toddlers and babies because they are safe around babies and they are still able to build things with them.
Scooter-This is very safe for toddlers learning how to ride a scooter for the first time, they can take it as slow as they want and as they get more comfortable with it they can ride it around everywhere.
Balance Bike-Most toddlers want to ride a bike but don’t have the coordination necessary so this is great for them to get the feel of what a bike is before they are ready for an actual bike. My kids have adjusted to a bike with no training wheels so easily, because of learning how to balance on these little bikes.
Whale Rocker-All babes/toddlers love rockers and this one is just too adorable and different from the typical horse rockers. Target has quite a few different animal rockers but this one is my favorite along with the unicorn one.
A gift guide for kids could go on and on. There are so many toys and gift ideas, but I wanted to narrow it down to favorites. I hope this helps in your search for the perfect Christmas presents for the kids in your life. May this be a beautiful holiday season for you and yours.
Sincerely,
