Whitening Sensitive Teeth at Home

January 16, 2020      Sarah Van Wagenen

Prior to being approached about reviewing an at-home teeth whitening kit, I thought my teeth seemed pretty white. I had certainly tried a variety of other products including whitening toothpaste, whitening gel, whitening strips, etc. However, my results were either underwhelming, too expensive to maintain, or generally too hard to do on a regular basis.

Another issue I’ve struggled with is having sensitive teeth that hurt when I try to whiten them. When Smile Brilliant approached me about trying their at-home, whitening system, they assured me that their system included a gel to use for sensitive teeth. Not only have my teeth become bright white, the sensitivity gel has helped me avoid discomfort during the process.

As a part of my experience, I wanted to share 3 easy tips for achieving brilliantly white teeth with the Smile Brilliant at-home, whitening kit. Check out my notes to get the same results!

3 Easy Tips for Brilliantly White Teeth

1. Choose the right product.

The most important tip, is selecting the right product. Thankfully, I was introduced to the brand Smile Brilliant, and they offered me a teeth whitening kit, in exchange for my honest review. Other than a chance to try their product for free, I’m not receiving any commission. I say this to be upfront, about my relationship with this brand, and clarify that I don’t gain anything extra by raving about their kit.

The science behind how their product works is impressive. Smile Brilliant creates custom trays for each customer and uses a gel that actually removes years of stains with each treatment without damaging enamel. The trays ensure an even distribution of whitening gel over the entirety of each tooth.

After my first time using the Smile Brilliant whitening trays, I was blown away! I took the trays off after a brief 30 minute session of whitening, not expecting to notice a difference. I was shocked! My teeth looked bright white.

2. Create a routine for whitening your teeth, and stick to it.

Creating a new routine can feel challenging, and difficult to stick with; however, by making a new routine enjoyable there’s a higher likelihood of continuing to follow it. I needed to find something that I enjoyed doing to pair with the routine of whitening my teeth.

It is recommended to whiten your teeth at night for better results. I decided to pair my teeth whitening routine with getting ready for bed. Since there are a few different steps, I’ll share the structure of my routine.

My Routine Went Like This

I started by cleaning and prepping my teeth, according to the directions, from Smile Brilliant. Then I put in my trays and proceeded to finish getting ready for bed. Once, I finished the rest of my routine, I sat down to read a book or watched a show with Kurt. When it was time for me to remove the trays, I simply rinsed them out, dried them, and applied the sensitivity gel for a few minutes.

By linking my teeth whitening to reading or watching something, it became something I didn’t want to miss. Consistency plays a significant role in the results of teeth whitening. If you really want bright white teeth you need whiten your teeth regularly.

Reading a book

3. Carefully follow instructions for whitening your teeth.

Even if the product is amazing, you might not see results based on your level of compliance to the included instructions. I decided early on, that I wanted to follow the directions carefully. After receiving the products, I read all the instructions several times to make sure I did everything correctly.

Results will vary among individuals. Your teeth will change based on the original color of your teeth, length of time you choose to whiten your teeth, and overall degree to which you follow the instructions.

Below you can see my results after just a few teeth whitening sessions. Whitening my teeth several times a week, keeps them bright white. I plan to keep whitening my teeth as part of my nighttime routine, to enjoy the results of a great product, consistency, and following the instructions.

Up close of teeth

Smile Brilliant was kind enough to offer one of my followers a free kit! Go to this link www.smilebrilliant.com/g/blossomandbecome and enter to win your own! If you want to buy the system, they also gave me a coupon code to share, just enter blossomandbecome15 during checkout.

If you’re like me, and you’ve tried a lot of different teeth whitening products without good results, don’t give up! Smile Brilliant has mastered a professional-grade, teeth-whitening kit for at-home treatments, and I highly recommend trying it out. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be more than happy to help you out!

Sincerely,

Sarah

📍 Hayden Valley + Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park

These are two of the best places in Yellowstone to spot wildlife and they’re completely different experiences!

🦬 Hayden Valley
Located in the heart of Yellowstone, Hayden Valley is famous for bison, elk, bears, coyotes, and sometimes wolves. The wide-open landscape makes it easier to scan the hillsides and riverbanks for animals. It’s also a beautiful drive with plenty of places to pull over and take in the views.

We drove through this area in the evening on our way out of Yellowstone and saw bison, a grizzly bear, deer, and elk. We even got to see a baby bison nursing. So special!!

🐺 Lamar Valley
Often called the “Serengeti of North America,” Lamar Valley is one of the best places in the park to look for wolves, bison, pronghorn, bears, and other wildlife. Get there early, bring binoculars, and watch the hillsides carefully—you never know what you might spot!

👀 Our biggest tips: Wildlife is wild, so sightings are never guaranteed. Look for groups of people stopped along the road (while following all park rules). Bring binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens, and animals are most active before 9 AM or after 4 PM.

📌 Save this for your Yellowstone trip!
