We love playing games as a family but sometimes it’s hard trying to find games that your little ones will both understand and enjoy. My kids are at the age now where they understand how to play a lot of games so it has been fun to introduce them to new games and play them together. So here is a list of my favorite games to play with little kids.
Favorite Kids’ Games
Sorry– This one is a classic board game that is fun for most ages. It is great for kids that are learning to count. They can practice counting as they move their piece around the board. Always great to practice saying “Sorry!” as a family, but we always get a good laugh playing this one together.
Hi Ho Cherry-O– We love playing this one together, it’s a fun counting game for littles. This was the first kid game we got and we’ve had it for years now. Very straight forward, easy to play in just a few minutes.
Candyland– This one is perfect for really young kids because it has simple rules and they don’t need to read to play.
Monopoly Junior (Trolls)– Your classic monopoly game with a fun Trolls twist. We really love playing Monopoly together.
Uno– The kids love this one because of the matching colors and matching numbers. It’s easy, it’s a classic, and always a good pick.
Tenzi– We love how fast paced this game is and it has a lot of variations you can play. All of us can play together and it’s really fun.
Frozen 2 Spot and Match– A spin off of the classic Spot It game, easy for any age, and fun for a quick game.
Sleeping Queens– This is a simple strategy game that our kids love! We got this for Christmas last year and play it more than any other game. We played it every day for months after getting it, and continue to pick it as a family favorite.
Kids’ Card and Board Games We Want to Get
Guess Who– A classic that was one of my favorites to play with my siblings as a kid.
Enchanted Forest– I’ve heard this is such a fun game. My kids love simple strategy games, so I think this would be a hit.
Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle (comprehensive deck-building game)- We all love Harry Potter, so I think they would be out of their minds excited to open this one and play it.
I hope this helps you find at least one new game you haven’t played before. Family time is so important and I feel like games are great at bringing your family together and having fun together. You just have to find games that are at your child’s level so that they can enjoy playing too. Before you know it your kids will be begging you to play games with them all the time which is the best kind of problem to have, happy playing!!
Sincerely,
